Terrorist killed amid ongoing gunfight in Kishtwar forests: Army | KNO

Kishtwar, Apr 11 (KNO): A terrorist was killed in a joint search and destroy operation launched by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the dense forests of Chhatru area in Kishtwar district on Friday Army said. The Army as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs. It said that the contact with the terrorists was established late in the evening on the same day, following which an intense firefight ensued. "The operation is being conducted in extremely challenging conditions, marked by hostile terrain and adverse weather, " the Army said, adding that despite these difficulties, the security forces continue to carry out relentless operations in the area to flush out any remaining terrorists. The identity and affiliation of the killed terrorist is yet to be confirmed," the Army said, adding that the search operations are ongoing—(KNO)
